Qmanager is a mobile app that lets you monitor and manage your QNAP NAS at anytime and anywhere.

Starting Qmanager

  1. Please ensure that QTS 4.0 (or later) has been installed on your NAS.

  2. Install Qmanager on your device from the Google Play Store.

  3. Qmanager will automatically find every QNAP NAS on the local network. Based on the search result, select a NAS and log in with your username and password (Qmanager can only be used by administrators).
    If you have changed the administration port (default: 8080) of the NAS, enter the new port number.

Nick nameEnter a name for the connection.
Host/IP

Enter the host name or the IP address of the NAS. To connect to the NAS from the Internet, make sure the NAS is properly configured for remote access.

  • Assign the NAS a fixed IP and set up the DDNS
  • Set up port forwarding on your router
User NameEnter your user name.
PasswordEnter your password.
Remember PasswordSelect this option to let Qmanager remember your password.
SSLSecure Sockets Layer
If you enable this option, you must make sure the port number is correct (Default: 443).
Push NotificationReceive system notifications from the NAS (QTS 4.2 (or later) is required). This option will appear after the first successful login.
PortThe port number for Web File Manager service (Default: 8080)

Resource Monitor

  1. You can check NAS system information in the Resource Monitor, including CPU usage, memory usage, disk usage, bandwidth, processes and online users.

  2. You can see detailed information for online users and can also block unwanted IP addresses to protect your NAS.

Privileges Settings

You can manage the access rights of users, user groups and shared folders.

  1. Shows apps and services of QTS. You can enable/disable and install apps from here.
  2. Select “More Apps” to see third-party apps that you have installed on your NAS. You can also enable/disable them.

System Logs

  1. Connection Logs shows information about HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, AFP, NFS, SMB, and iSCSI connections.
  2. Event Logs displays warnings, errors and other messages regarding your NAS.

You can also use the drop down list to filter messages.

Monitor and manage your NAS backup tasks.

  1. You can eject or remove external devices that are connected to your NAS in the "Ext. storage" page.

How to use Wake on LAN

You can see the WOL function in Qmanager by clicking the ">" next to the NAS connection and by going to the "Server Settings" page. This will appear after the first successful login.

Push Notification

The push service lets you receive notification messages on Qmanager if a warning or error event occurs - allowing you to quickly receive first-hand information from your NAS and instantly react to keep your data safe. For more information, please refer to the tutorial: "How to use push service?".

How to use 2-step verification to log in to a NAS using Qmanager

• Note:

  • Qmanager iOS version must be 1.8.0 or above.
  • Qmanager Android version must be 2.1.0 or above.

For more information about how to enable 2-step verification, please refer to "How to enhance account security using 2-step verification?".

  1. After enabling 2-step verification on your NAS, install Google Authenticator on your mobile device and configure it.
  2. Connect to the NAS using Qmanager.
  3. After connecting to the NAS it will start the “2-step Verification” process.

    • Verify another way: If your mobile device with Google Authenticator is unavailable, you can use your chosen alternative verification method.
    • Get security code: Applicable to the device that has Google Authenticator installed. This option will go to Google Authenticator. Long click and press “How to use Qmanager to manage a QNAP NAS (52)” to copy the security code.

      Note: The system time of your mobile device and NAS must be synchronized. It is recommended to use the time provided from the Internet.

  4. Return to Qmanager, enter the security code, and select “Login”.
